Startup World Cup Finland

The Startup World Cup Finland will take place on April 26 from 5 pm - 10pm at Pakkahuone in Tampere.

The winner from Startup World Cup Finland will be invited to compete in the Startup World Cup 2018 Grand Finale Global Startup competition in San Francisco on the 11th of May 2018. The global winner will receive a $1,000,000 investment prize.

Come to meet startups, investors and business leaders from around Finland! We are inviting you to enjoy to hear what the best startups of Finland are pitching. We will offer dinner at 5pm before the program and after the official program, there is a possibility for social networking. Note that there are only 400 seats available!

Startup, do you want to become the Finnish startup champion and represent Finland among best startups of the World?

The Startup World Cup will provide airfare and two nights hotel stay for the winner to compete in the Grand Finale in San Francisco.

There is more prizes to the winners of Startup World Cup Finland finale than tickets to Silicon Valley and Turku SHIFT Business Festival!

International technology conference Mindtrek will offer the winner startup 2-Day stand at the Mindtrek exhibition area and 2-Day VIP tickets to Mindtrek for the whole competing team. There is also accomodation during Mindtrek at the amazing Dream Hotel right across Tampere Hall and a few meters away from Tampere´s startup community space Tribe.

The second and third startup will get 2-Day tickets to Mindtrek for the whole competing team.

Mindtrek is an international technology conference organized annually in Tampere, which aspires to bring all fields of technology together under one roof and enable people and businesses to learn, meet and connect.

Mindtrek consists of around 70 different sessions that revolve around the most current and rising topics in the field of tech, across industry borders. You can expect to see high-quality presentations in 6 different “tracks” going on simultaneously during the two conference days.

West Coast calling!

Both the winner and the second of Startup World Cup Finland are invited to boost their business in West Coast. The winner will receive golden ticket to Silicon Valley and the second team to Turku SHIFT Business festival!

SHIFT Business Festival is held in 22th and 23th of May in Kakola prison. This year theme is Redefining normal and the program will handle the future of humans and technology.

SHIFT will round up all the professionals, influencers and startup-enthusiasts from technology and industry fields and enable conversations and co-operation for the future most interesting phenomena.

Who will rank startups and decide the winner of Startup World Cup Finland Nationale Finale?

In Pakkahuone you will meet jury members:

Riku Asikainen, Entrepreneur and Angel Investor. Riku is one of the founders of Finnish Business Angels ry, FIBAN. He has over 15 years experience as an investor and has started plenty of successful business in Finland and Europe.

Saga Forss, Founding Partner, Broadius Partner Oy and Angel Investor. Saga has an extensive background as a Corporate Finance adviser both domestically and internationally. She has a broad network in Europe, and especially in the Nordics. She´s also an investor, with a special interest in food, wellness, fitness and health sectors.

Mikko Kuitunen, Co-founder of Vincit Oy. Mikko has lead his game changing software development firm to win best workplace competition both in Finland and Europe. He is known as a passionate and motivational leader.

Sami Somero, Entrepreneur and Private Investor, Nurmiranta holdings Oy. Sami has strong knowledge about B2B-business and entrepreneurship. He is stakeholder in 12 startups at the moment and helps them to grow international business.

Carl Fritjofsson and Bill Reichert from Silicon Vikings. Silicon Vikings is a 40,000+ network headquartered in Silicon Valley with nodes throughout the Nordic and Baltic region.
