Tampere Theatre Festival is here again

The 46th Tampere Theatre Festival takes place on August 4–10 and the city is full of performances for people of all ages and interests.

Tampere Theatre Festival’s Main Programme features 20 theatre companies and 41 performances: Finnish, Turkish, Dutch, Canadian, Estonian and – for the first time – Slovenian theatre. The Slovene National Theatre Drama Ljubljana's acclaimed production The Crazy Locomotive has arrived to Tampere, and they are happy to be here, they say.

    – For this year’s programme, we selected productions in which the people’s own voice, thinking and doing, and in many performances, also the writing, are strongly present, say Tampere Theatre Festival's Artistic Team Kaarina Hazard, Mikko Kanninen and Mikko Roiha.

Tampere Theatre Festival and TINFO – Theatre Info Finland organise together their fourth Finnish Showcase, a promotional event of Finnish theatre exporting, as a part of the Festival. Finnish Showcase presents a selection of contemporary Finnish theatre and artists for Festival’s foreign guests.

During the Festival week there are also post-show discussion after performances, gatherings and other smaller events as part of the Finnish Showcase programme.
