Parker Hannifin's Hydraulic and Fuel Filtration Division EMEA centralized hydraulic and lube filtration R&D activities to Finland last year. Operations are located in the Tampere Region, laboratory in Urjala – in the same location with the manufacturing plant. In addition, they recently opened a new office for the technology and product development team, in Technopolis Hermia, Tampere. Depending on people’s daily duties, up to 10 people work at Tampere office, or at the plant in Urjala, depending on need from Production.

Parker decided to bring filtration development and manufacturing to Finland because customers, as well as, research companies and institutes are located in Tampere area, and also in the rest of the country. Close and frequent interaction with the key partners is essential key for success and making that as easy as possible was one of our primary targets when decision of opening the new office was done. In addition, empowered employees are the most important writers of the success stories.

"Tampere is an important location for us because it not only enables us to connect our production facility in Urjala with top notch engineering capabilities, furthermore it brings us close to our customers that have a long history of product and system development in Tampere. Nowadays it is more important then ever to be close to the pulse of new development. With the Hermia office we have taken a step towards this", says Plant Manager René Graichen.

The location of the new office in Tampere is in the context of University of Technology, naturally an innovative environment and from where most of the company's engineers come. Furthermore, the position close to the city center and the main connection points will enhance the possibilities of meeting partners and customers, at different locations. By providing the employees a comfortable and functional working environment in an attractive location is also one of the corner stone’s enabling people to enjoy their work. For Parker, engaging people is closely linked to premier customer service and profitable grow.
