Film Tampere’s network unites stakeholders, potentially boosting production finances and workplace well-being
8.8.2024Film Tampere Friends connects local film services and businesses in the Tampere region through a curated list. The network aims to streamline film production purchases and enhance business collaboration, while also impacting workplace well-being. Given the demanding nature of filming, the services of partner companies can aid in performance and recovery both at work and during leisure time.
Film Tampere has assembled a group of local stakeholders into the Film Tampere Friends network.
Friends partners are businesses interested in working with AV productions and committed to offering services, products, partnership rates, or other benefits for productions in Tampere.
The network aims to expand regional business collaboration and strengthen cooperation between partner companies and AV industry professionals. Currently, the network includes accommodation services, logistics companies, catering providers, leisure activities, and corporate gifts.
Streamlines productions
Business Advisor Niina Virtanen, an experienced film industry professional, who began her work at Film Tampere at the turn of the year, understands from experience that productions can be challenging to organize. Productions operating globally are active in Tampere and the surrounding areas. Without a curated list, mapping out services can be difficult, especially if one is unfamiliar with the Tampere region.
– We want our curated list to serve companies and provide extra support. Productions often struggle to find reliable logistics, catering, or accommodation services on their own. Conversely, we want to give companies the opportunity to work in the AV industry, as they might not have existing connections to productions, Virtanen explains the network’s creation, and adds:
– No one will be left out. All interested parties will definitely have the chance to contribute to the AV sector and join the network, Virtanen says.
We want our curated list to serve companies and provide extra support.
Demanding shoots
Virtanen notes that filming periods can be extremely exhausting and intense. The physical and mental demands of these strenuous periods can be high, with long days often spent in heat, harsh conditions, and physically demanding situations.
Good preparation, support networks, and healthy lifestyles can help alleviate these strains, which Film Tampere Friends aims to address constructively. In addition to making it somewhat easier to find services in the Tampere region with the curated list, there are companies involved that focus directly on overall well-being.
– During filming periods, it’s important to cherish the brief moments of free time. Rest available for recovery may be limited. I believe it’s crucial that we provide opportunities for exercise and healthy food options. I encourage productions to offer healthier choices alongside pizza, kebabs, and pastries, Virtanen says.
Work well-being is a major theme
As a recent addition to the Friends list, Puhdistamo, a supplement and wellness product company from Lempäälä, has joined. According to Customer Manager Daniel Inkinen, Puhdistamo has collaborated with Pirkanmaa on projects like the comedy series Somekingi. The series, directed by Samu Soini, stars Elias Keränen and Joel Hirvonen.
– For film work, our top recommendations are energy drinks with natural caffeine, electrolyte powder for hydration, and healthy snack bars, Inkinen lists.
Inkinen notes that workplace well-being is a key focus for them and the entire health supplement industry.
– We spend a vast amount of time at work, and many of us experience occasional issues with work stamina. We believe that in addition to a good and safe work environment, lifestyle choices significantly impact workplace well-being, Inkinen says.
Puhdistamo is increasingly focusing on products that make maintaining a healthy lifestyle easier and more motivating, even amidst work pressures.
Film Tampere is an economic policy program aimed at developing the local audiovisual industry and assisting national and international film and TV productions in establishing themselves in the Tampere region. The program is part of the economic and development company Business Tampere.
