Heather Beach is the founder and director of The Healthy Work Company. A former director of a FTSE 250 company she has studied Applied Positive Psychology and is currently studying Relational Organisational Gestalt. A key influencer in the health and safety sector Heather founded Women in Health and Safety and has been featured in numerous consumer publications and on TV. Heather speaks French, Spanish, and Italian and is fascinated by what it takes for human beings to thrive in life.
Lauren Applebey has worked in occupational health, safety, and wellbeing for 13 years, originally in construction, moving to UBM for Barbour-EHS in 2008 as an editor and content developer. Lauren wrote and created technical guidance, toolbox talks, and information for both employees and directors on all areas of safety, physical and mental health, and wellbeing at work. In 2011 as well as continuing to work at UBM, Lauren worked on Network Rail’s Life Saving Rules campaign, in addition to writing training scripts for iHasco, and writing news and features for Health and Safety Tips and Advice. Lauren moved into the role of Deputy Editor and then Editor of SHPOnline, ensuring all of the most important OSH and wellbeing information was available for health and safety professionals, directors, managers, and employees across numerous industries.
As part of The Healthy Work Company Lauren delivers the two-day Mental Health First Aid course, and passionately trains small and larger groups, of all levels, in safety, health, and wellbeing at work – with a particular interest in working with people to make changes to their own mental wellbeing and that of their team’s wellbeing. Lauren also speaks at conferences, team building days, and events.
