This time our Masterclass topic is ”Quite a Trip: how a Norwegian film became a Hollywood film… shot in Finland”

The masterclass will discuss how a Norwegian film, THE TRIP (I ONDE DAGER) became OVER YOUR DEAD BODY – a Hollywood film shot in Tampere. Our panelists will discuss the roots of the original film, bringing the remake to Finland, and the differences in working on Nordic films vs international films with bigger budgets and world-famous cast.

This is the fifth XYZ Masterclass by XYZ Films with Film Tampere at the Finnish Film Affair. Moderated by Aram Tertzakian, founder of XYZ Films and producer of Over Your Dead Body, and hosted by Fanny Heinonen, Program Director of Film Tampere.

Kjetil Omberg is the Head of Production and International Relations at NFI. He has extensive experience across the film industry, spanning film distribution, marketing, production, and international collaboration. Before joining NFI in 2023, Omberg worked as an independent producer for more than a decade, producing nearly 30 feature films through companies such as Tappeluft Pictures and 74 Entertainment, focusing strongly on genre films. His credits include successful Norwegian productions such as Dead Snow, The Trip (I onde dager), Girls Trip (Jentetur), and Gold Run (Gulltransporten).

Tytti Vaaleri is a Finnish UK-based hair, makeup and prosthetics designer and artist. Her recent design credits include Jorma Taccone’s Over Your Dead Body and the Norwegian feature film Kraken. Bringing her experience from the UK to productions in Finland, Tytti combines international industry knowledge with a warm, collaborative approach to team leadership, character and storytelling.

Laura Sutinen is an international relations professional working across the film and TV industry, with a focus on high-profile talent and strengthening Finland’s position within the global industry. As an Above-the-Line Liaison, she has supported international cast, directors and other key creatives during productions in Finland, ensuring their experience is seamless both on and off set. Her broader work includes building relationships with international studios and production companies, connecting global decision-makers with opportunities in Finland, and contributing to Finland’s international visibility and country image.

Timo Vierimaa is a Finnish producer specializing in international co-productions. Through his company, Films Films Films Oy, he produces original content and serves as one of Finland’s most active service producers for international projects utilizing local cash rebates.
