Rapid Tampere innovation calls are open! The challenges, set by the the international industrial companies Sandvik, Kalmar, Caruna and Valmet, deal with controlling physical strain at work, sensor technology, safe working environments and enriching data.
Sandvik, Kalmar, Caruna and Valmet, all high-class international industrial companies, have joined Rapid Tampere, the first collaboration accelerator in Tampere Region. A global search for top high-tech collaborators to spar these companies towards progress has started, and it continues until October 31,2019.

After 10 weeks of hard work, the first class of Nordic Startup School has now graduated. 11 startups finished this program run by Startup Tampere. All the participants got to pitch their ideas in Nordic Startup School’s Demoday, and eventually one of the teams was selected to be the winner of the trip to the Capital Factory in Austin, Texas.
Smart Tampere programme is aiming to increase the involvement of companies and research institutes in smart city digitalisation, business ecosystem building and sustainable development. The smart city developers had a meeting in April to discuss the programme and its implementation.
Digita and Smart Tampere have started a LoRaWAN technology based IoT pilot in Tampere. During the pilot companies, research centers and the City of Tampere have an opportunity to test and develop new smart city solutions in the network. For example street lighting control and monitoring the indoor air quality of buildings can be experimented. The pilot is part of the series of agile experiments of Smart Tampere.
