Where are you from?
I have moved from Russia in 2012. My husband was born in Tampere and he has been living here all his life.
His love for Tampere became a part of my soul too.
What would you like to tell about yourself?
All my life, I’ve been interested in history, arts, literature and music. I also love to find out more facts about different cultures and I enjoy nature very much. Once I was very impressed of one touristquide’s caracter in Leningrad. I was a child and starting to dream about becoming as this person was: someone who loves the place she is living with all her heart and soul, sharing those interests and love with other people. It looks like my dream came true in Tampere!
Why is Tampere the best place to live?
This is an ideal place for people who dislike monstrous cities with millions of citizens, but for whom village life is a little bit boring. Tampere has both sides: center with kaleidoscope of events and quiet “sleeping areas”.
Urban transport superbly organised: if you don’t have your own car, you can plan your tour around the city by using city buses.
Tampere – the city of theaters, museums, universities, festivals and amazing beauty of nature.
The city has great potential as a center of the international tourism and international investments.
Tell about your professional activities?
In Russia, I had a lot of experience in the trade of various goods. My recent workplace gave me experience in working as a personal assistant of the head management. I like to organize various cultural events and workshops.
Nowadays I’m studying the history of Tampere by myself and with historical lectures which are organised by the Central Library Metso and Ahjola University. I’ve wrote my own excursion route and organised it for the excursions for Russian tourists.
When I’m visiting my native country (Russia), I’m always giving my contacts and some information about possibilities for studying, travelling, organising different events in Tampere or being a part of the great festivals, which Tampere region has every year. I also meet representatives of Russian traveling agencies and people, who are interested about Finland (business, travel, education, investments, science, work). In addition, I also have an internet page, which you can enter by clicking here: www.tampere-excursio.com. There I describe the history of the city of Tampere, write about news, about interesting people and interesting urban developments in Russian.
What is your involvement in international activities?
I’m writing articles for different tourism pages and link them to the events that take place in the city of Tampere. I’m also helping to organise visits for foreign guests to Tampere. Currently I am working on the ideas of services that will help the integration of immigrants into Finnish society.
What is your mission as a Tampere Ambassador?
To promote Tampere for my contacts around the world as a good living, working and studying city and region and introduce Tampere as a good congress and event destination.
What potential do you see for Tampere in the future?
I hope that in the future, international tourism will grow and international companies will come to the local markets, giving opportunities for employment for the international talents and enhance the economic development of the city and region of Tampere.
