During my bachelor study, I also once an exchange student in Yuanze University in Taiwan. And then I joined in the Erasmus Mundus master degree program, Master of Research and Innovation in Higher Education (MARIHE Program), which is coordinated by Danube University Krems, Austria, University of Tampere, Finland, Beijing Normal University, China and Osnabruck University of Applied Science, Germany. And I stayed and studied in the four countries during my master’s study. After the master’s study, I begin my doctoral study in University of Tampere, and stay in Tampere. So basically I am originally from China, but I am also from a diverse cultural growth path.

What would you like to tell about yourself?
I am a positive, easy-going and open-minded person. I like simple and focused life, but I also enjoy meeting with different people and getting to know the diverse world where we live.

What makes Tampere special for you?
Since the first time I came to Tampere in 2013 for the second semester’s study of the MARIHE programme, I found myself in love with Tampere, and decided to come back. Hence, I chose University of Tampere for last semester’s study, and came back and graduated from here. And afterwards, I continued my doctoral study in University of Tampere, without any hesitation. I chose to spend most of my European days here because I enjoy the peaceful life here, because I love the sincere people here, because I appreciate the quality education and serious research here. And I would like more people to know about it.

Tell about your professional activities?
Currently, I am a doctoral candidate and researcher in University of Tampere, working on my doctoral research about the quality assurance of doctoral education collaboration between Europe and China.

What is your involvement in international activities?
Except for my doctoral research, I am also involved in several Erasmus + Project and CIMO Project and participate in all kinds of international collaborative initiatives to deepen the higher education cooperation between China and Europe, particularly between China and Finland.

What is your mission as a Tampere Ambassador?
Nowadays, more and more people in the world come to notice the quality education in Finland, but they don’t have enough resources to get more information about that. I always believe we international students/staff can be a channel to let other people to know about the other world, and become a bridge between different countries and different cultures. Through our actions, such as sharing our life and our experiences, people get to know more about the others, and be more tolerant and open-minded. I believe this will also my mission as a Tampere – All Bright! Ambassador: to be the bridge/channel to let people know about Tampere, and come and study and work here!

What potential do you see for Tampere in the future?
An international-friendly hub for quality education and advanced technology innovation, which embraces people from all walks of life.
