Where are you from?
I’m from Mendoza, Argentina…the land of sun and great wine. I come from a spanish-italian immigrant family. My great-grandparents arrived to Argentina during the great European immigration in the 19th century. Our family is extremely important for us, we are a really tight family. So tight that my parents and younger sister moved here to Finland a bit more than 8 months ago to be able to be close to my son, their first grandson and godson.
What would you like to tell about yourself?
I consider myself as an open person. I’m not afraid of thinking differently and I always follow my heart. I don´t want to wake up one day and think what if….? I know what I want and I’m not afraid of taking risks to make my dreams come true. As I did when I decided to leave everything I knew, and to come to the other side of the world to be with my favorite Finn.
Why is Tampere the best place to live?
Tampere is the best place to live because it has a lot of potential and amazing people. Tampere manages to combine nature and city making it just perfect. If you live a bit far from the center, like me, you are able to wake up and go into the forest that is surrounded everywhere and it is just 50 meters away from your backyard. You can’t get that so easily anywhere else…
Tell about your professional activities?
I’m in 2nd year of International Business in TAMK. I have worked for more than 8 years in Hospitality business in Argentina and I have lived and worked in Mexico and New Zealand.
What is your involvement in international activities?
Right now I’m a community member of Agendum Ltd.’s Ambassador Community, helping nonprofit organisations in Latin America improve their functions by providing online collaboration tools.
What is your mission as a Tampere Ambassador?
My mission is to promote Tampere as a good living, working and studying city. Also as a personal mission I would be happy if I can help other international students take the risk and stay in Tampere after their studies are over.
What potential do you see for Tampere in the future?
I see a lot of potential, we just need more people willing to take a chance and show the world that Tampere is open to everyone. That way we can make Tampere shine brighter and bigger 🙂
