Geospatial technologies and GIS Solutions for IGAD countries (first session), January 23rd, 2020, Helsinki
Starting in early 2020, the brand-new SDG Boosters will bring together companies, NGOs, financial instruments and thematic experts to develop solutions and projects to address concrete needs identified from developing countries.
The first of the new SDG Boosters by Finnpartnership, UNTIL, Fingo and Business Finland is about Peace & Security, specifically focusing on geospatial technologies and GIS solutions for IGAD countries (Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Somalia, the Sudan, South Sudan and Uganda). Prior to the Peace & Security boosters, Finnpartnership attended AfricaGIS conference in Kigali, Rwanda on November 2019, and identified the main challenges and needs related to GIS technologies in IGAD countries. The companies and organizations attending the Peace & Security Boosters are expected to come together and create solutions and consortia in order to respond to the identified challenges. Only Finnish companies or organizations are eligible participants for the workshops.
