Safety and security actors interested in joint projects

In September-October, Business Tampere and WitMill Oy conducted an in-depth safety and security ecosystem study, to which 116 organizations responded. The purpose of the survey was to provide information on the operators’ value chains, services and success stories to support the planning of measures. Tampere Region Safety and Security Cluster published the results on 26 November at Tampere University.

The survey asked if organizations in Tampere Region were interested to take part in the marketing of the region with their own success stories. It was great to see that almost half of all respondents were interested in telling their company’s success story. Towards the end of the year, articles on the stories of the four actors will be prepared. More articles are also planned for next year.

In addition to the success stories, the survey identified the interest of the actors in joint projects. About one third of the respondents had safety or security projects planned. In light of the results, the vast majority (86 %) of respondents were also interested in developing joint solutions with other actors in the area. Business Tampere and DIMECC are already in the process of activating joint industry and cyber security projects.

The results of the study will be further analyzed and based on that it will be decided, what other measures to develop joint solutions can be launched in the coming year, tells Petri Nykänen from Business Tampere.

The actors involved in the study represented a wide range of safety and security sectors. The most significant of these were cyber and information security (27 %), social security (16%) and industrial security (11 %). Feedback on the types of services expected from Business Tampere or Tampere Region Safety and Security Cluster will help to design customer-oriented ecosystem services. Based on the results, the actors prefer networking events (77 %), safety and security related education and training (45%), and support services for the preparation of R&D projects (34 %).

The overall safety and security framework and the actors around it were updated based on the findings of the study. There are now about 250 identified actors in the ecosystem. Of these, 150 have been subject to measures this year. If you are not yet on this list, please contact us.
