Pertti Aimonen has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Business Tampere starting from the beginning of 2025. Aimonen is known, among other things, as the founder of the Tampere-based smart device tester OptoFidelity. He has also held board and leadership positions in several other technology companies, such as Treon, spogen.ai, CoreHW, and CeLLife Technologies. At Business Tampere, Aimonen will focus on promoting the internationalization of local companies and attracting new industrial investments, particularly in the fields of mechanical engineering, semiconductors, defense technology, and the energy transition. His work will be supported by solid experience in Nordic venture capital and startup entrepreneurship. “Pertti’s strong practical experience and vision, both in building industrial operations and in the growth sectors important to Business Tampere, convinced us. As CEO of Tampere-based smart device tester OptoFidelity, Aimonen led the company’s expansion into Asia and the United States. The company was awarded the President of the Republic’s Export Award in 2016. OptoFidelity was sold in 2017 to the Chinese CYG Group. In recent years, Aimonen has focused on leading several startup and growth companies as a board member or advisor. Aimonen holds a Master’s degree in Automation Technology from Tampere University.
