    AGCO Power wins the Industrial Act of the Year Award

    The Industrial Act of the Year Award highlights the importance of industrial business. The award was presented on September 22, 2021, in Tampere, the Finnish Industrial Center.

    ACGO Power has invested heavily in its modern production and assembly environment in Nokia, Finland. The mayor of Tampere, Anna-Kaisa Ikonen, handed over the award to the company in Subcontracting Trade Fair.

    – AGCO Power's pioneering investment in a state-of-the-art production and assembly environment as well as investments in training and networking show direction and inspiration to all. Robotics, automation and new machining technology are widely utilized in the new environment. The investment also accumulates a lot of work both in Finland and globally, says Heini Wallander, Business Tampere's invest in and global operations Business Advisor about the basis of the award.

    Juha Tervala, CEO of AGCO Power, sees the future bright, as long as the measures are right at both corporate and state level.

    – The future of Finnish industrial production is in our own hands. We must make sure that we have skilled personnel, high level of quality and that we invest smartly in new technology. Society's support is needed to provide quality education in order to have qualified and motivated people at every level, Juha Tervala says.

    – The award given to us proves that our direction is right. We are grateful for the award, and will continue with the same pattern, he continues.

    Proposals for the award were invited in July, and in September Business Tampere, the economic development agency of the Tampere region, chose the winner. Proposals were sought, for example, in terms of industry visibility and image, increased and growing diversity, and internationalization. Business Tampere wanted to highlight Finnish know-how and the courage to invest in industry when choosing the winner.

    The award, presented for the first time this year, will be annual and it will highlight topical, impressive and positive actions of industry.
