CHARGE is an EU-wide initiative driving innovative, safe, and sustainable battery policies to support the new EU Batteries Regulation. With batteries at the heart of the green transition – from storing renewable energy to powering electric vehicles – CHARGE is helping build a low-carbon, circular economy across Europe.

By bringing together key players from across the battery value chain, CHARGE supports smarter regional and interregional policy development. The project connects policymakers, companies, and research institutes to boost innovation, improve recycling and reuse practices, and accelerate market access for new battery technologies.

At its core, CHARGE promotes interregional learning and collaboration. It helps regions share best practices, solve local energy and mobility challenges, and strengthen their capacity to innovate and comply with EU regulations. Whether it’s reducing emissions through green logistics or enabling circular battery economies, CHARGE empowers regions to lead the way.

With partners from seven European countries, CHARGE builds strong battery ecosystems through knowledge exchange, collaboration, and a shared commitment to sustainable development. Together, we’re powering Europe’s clean energy future – one battery at a time.
