Studying in Tampere is one of the best decisions you could ever make. Whether you are looking to pursue professional goals or your academic vision, we have the right place for you.

University of Tampere (UTA) and Tampere University of Technology (TUT) will merge to form a new foundation-based university, Tampere University from January 1st 2019. What makes this a completely unique hub of knowledge and community is the addition of Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) through majority shareholding. This will bring together a total of about 40 000 students and staff to form Tampere Universities. Click here to learn more about the new Tampere University on the Tampere3 development website.

Students of the merging universities will continue their studies seamlessly in their original degree programmes and graduate from the new Tampere University. Students enrolled in the university of applied sciences will remain in their cohort and will graduate from Tampere University of Applied Sciences. All students can tailor their studies with supplemental courses from within the community. Companies, surrounding society and NGO’s are essential partners and resource for learning and will guarantee a living, evolving field for applied and highest level of research.
