    CALL FOR BIDS: The Coordination of Tampere Ambassador Network

    Tampere region economic development agency Business Tampere / Talent Tampere Boost project is calling for bids for the coordination of Tampere Ambassador Network.

    Background

    Tampere Ambassador Network is governed by Talent Tampere Boost project. The funding of the project was extend to April 2019. From the beginning of this year the project was downscaled to one man-year resource. Hence, Talent Tampere Boost project needs to buy the service for the coordination of Tampere Ambassador Network.

    Tampere Ambassador Network is a voluntary-based network consisting of internationally and business oriented foreigners and Finns living both in the Tampere Region and abroad. The main goal of the network is to promote the Tampere region internationally and enhance the awareness of the region among businesses, professionals and tourists.  The members of the network work to promote internationalization of the region. In addition, they introduce Tampere as a best living, working, studying and business environment in the world.

    We are looking for coordination service provider for the following period: February-April 2019.

    All the activities of Talent Tampere will be relocated to the city of Tampere from the 1st of May 2019 onwards. Hence, the option of extend the contract must be negotiated with the city of Tampere after April 2019.

    Talent Tampere Boost project is funded by the City of Tampere and Ministry of Economic Development and Employment within AIKO growth agreement (Kasvusopimus). The project is line with the Ministry’s Growth via international talents agenda (Kasvuakansainvälisistä osaajista).

    Bidding Process

    Due to the small size of the procurement in question, a limited and simplified bidding process is applicable. Business Tampere reserves the right not to buy the service.

    Service to Be Procured

    The Coordination of the Tampere Ambassador Network will take approximately 30-40% of one week (40h) workload.

    The tasks of the coordination will include:

    • Processing the incoming Tampere Ambassador applications
    • Acquiring new members for the Tampere Ambassador Network
    • Maintaining the communications with existing members of the network

    -Writing and sending newsletters

    -Updating the facebook group,

    -Handling the personal communications with Tampere Ambassadors

    -Informing the stakeholders about Tampere Ambassador Network

    -Writing long-length text about internationalization for the Business Tampere’s channels

    • Providing support for the marketing activities the Tampere Ambassadors may execute
    • Organizing events, for example company visits, for the Network. (Approximately once per month)
    • Updating the status of the Network to pointed employees of Business Tampere

    We expect the coordinator to have one’s own working devices including a computer and mobile phone. A company I-D or Light Entrepreneurship profile is also required in order to invoice Business Tampere. Business Tampere provides the access to the electronic platforms needed to coordinate the network. Business Tampere will also provide for example the catering and other materials for the events organized for the Tampere Ambassador Network. Costs mentioned above must first be agreed with pointed employee of Business Tampere.  Business Tampere will also provide support for the coordinator through-out the contract period during the office hours.

    An ideal service provider has:

    • Degree or on-going studies in higher-education institute
    • Proven ability in project coordination and marketing
    • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
    • Diplomatic communications skills
    • International and multicultural knowledge
    • Can-do and energetic attitude

    On the selection process we will weight especially the proven record of project coordination and marketing skills.

    The Bid Has to Include the Following:

    • Applicant’s CV.
    • A Cover Letter
    • Reference cases of previous project coordination and marketing tasks
    • Price (+ VAT) per one month of work (weekly workload 30-40%)*

    *The bid has to include the price which includes the actual work, the use of one’s own working devices and other direct costs to execute the job. Since this bid is not going to lead to traditional employee relationship, Business Tampere will not cover the costs which are not included to the bided price.

    Submission of bids

    The bid with all requested information can be prepared in English or in Finnish.  Questions of the bid can be send to Maiju.viiki@businesstampere.com by Monday 21st of January. The answers for the questions will be published in https://businesstampere.com/fi/tietoa-meista/tarjouspyynnot/ by Tuesday 22th of January.

    The bids needs to be submitted by email to: Maiju.viiki@businesstampere.com  by Thursday 24th  of January.
