Becoming an entrepreneur is a major decision, and making that decision requires information and support. There are free-of-charge public services, guides and material available to support the brainstorming phase of setting up a company and the practical implementation.

Services for new entrepreneurs

Are you interested in entrepreneurship or planning to start your own business? Contact your local TE Office as early as possible. A start-up grant or unemployment benefit is available for new entrepreneurs meeting certain criteria. There are also flexible possibilities of launching your business while taking part in entrepreneur training.

Training for entrepreneurs
When you are considering entrepreneurship as a career choice, or you wish to start or you have already started your own business, you can take part in entrepreneurial career coaching or entrepreneur training. Career coaching offers you the possibility of getting to know entrepreneurship as an alternative to paid employment. You can flexibly combine starting your business with taking part in entrepreneur training. Training that aims at obtaining further vocational qualification for entrepreneurs or one of its modules is also organised as labour market training.

Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment
Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment may finance the operations of your starting company and help you to develop your operations further. Enterprise Finland Telephone Service (tel. 0295 020 500, on weekdays 9:00 am–4:15 pm) guides and assists in general matters related to establishing a company and, when necessary, advises you to seek other expert services.

Buying a company or continuing operations
Many entrepreneurs are looking for somebody to continue or buy their company.
