Tampere – the center of ICT developing new solutions to health and well-being sector
Large companies are developing patient record systems to hospitals, as well as UNA Oy, which is a joint project of municipalities to create common database for hospital patient records.
In addition, several smaller companies are developing IT solutions to hospitals and applications for end users.
In Tampere region, there’s a lot of R&D activity for peripheral devices and sensors of digital health applications. For instance, the first heart rate monitoring belt for consumers based on textile electronics was developed in Tampere, as well as a big part of wearables and sensors used for MyData collection today. Digitalisation supports personalized care pathways and virtual policlinic solutions.
